FAMU Way
The FAMU Way Extension Project was unanimously approved by the City Commission on June 23, 2010 to enhance transportation and serve as a major community investment in the southern side of the city, particularly in the vicinity of Florida A&M University.
In fall of 2011, project managers were notified by CSX Railroad of potential and previously undisclosed factors that would likely cause frequent and significant traffic delays, upwards of 30-45 minutes, where the selected roadway would cross the railroad tracks.
Your input is vital to the success of this project. Please contact us at 891-8533 if you have any questions.
Project Route
Note: The image below depicts a potential modification to the approved route (including the related Capital Cascade Trail). The modification would have the route turn south at the railroad tracks to Gamble Street and then follow the existing Gamble alignment westward to Lake Bradford Road.
