Neighborhood Recognition Program

2011 AwardsThe City of Tallahassee is now accepting applications for the 2012 Neighborhood Recognition Program. This program was established to honor and provide neighborhoods an opportunity to share their many accomplishments and programs that have proved to be beneficial to their neighborhood. It also provides each neighborhood association an opportunity to honor an individual from their association as the "Neighbor of the Year" for their contributions to the community.

While we are proud of all of our neighborhoods, the City of Tallahassee would like to recognize those neighborhoods that have gone above and beyond in helping to make our community a better place to live. In May, the City of Tallahassee and Leon County will each recognize one large neighborhood (more than 200 homes) and one small neighborhood (less than 200 homes), and one "Neighbor of the Year" at the 32nd Annual Council of Neighborhood Associations Meeting and Awards Reception. Neighborhoods selected will receive a Neighborhood of the Year sign to display at their entrance.

If you are interested in participating in this program, please complete the nomination application (PDF) and hand deliver or mail the original to the City of Tallahassee, Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Affairs Department, 912 Myers Park Drive, Tallahassee, FL, 32301. Applications can also be faxed to 891-3850. All nominations must be received or postmarked by March 23, 2012. We encourage each of you to submit your neighborhood's accomplishments and successes for consideration. Keep up the good work!
