Summer Camps

Below is the information on the many summer camps currently in registration.

Summer Art Camp 2010

Children ages 6-12 can have a blast at Summer Art Camp 2010 at Optimist Park, located at 1806 East Indianhead Drive.

Ages 6 - 12
Camp Fees $145.25 per two-week session (+$5 activity fee per session)
Session Dates II - June 21 - July 2
III - July 5 - July 16
IV - July 19 - July 30
V - August 2 - August 13
Camp Hours 9:00am - 4:30pm
Additional Supervision 7:30 - 9:00am and 4:30 - 5:30pm (at no charge)
What to Bring A lunch and drink each day (snack provided)
Payment Details Please make checks for Camp fees to: City of Tallahassee. Activity Fees checks should be made out to: Friends of Our Parks.

Playcamp 2010

Children ages 5-12 can have a blast at Playcamp 2010 at the Sue Herndon McCollum Community Center! For more information, see below or download the flyer (PDF).

Ages 5 - 12 (5yr olds must have completed kindergarten)
Camp Fees $200.00 per two-week session (+$10 activity fee per session)
Session Dates II - June 21 - July 2
III - July 5 - July 16
IV - July 19 - July 30
V - August 2 - August 13
Camp Hours 9:00am - 4:30pm
Additional Supervision 7:30 - 9:00am and 4:30 - 5:30pm (at no charge)

If You are New to
Playcamp
New participants can come by the center on Monday, May 3, during operating hours to place requests for any Playcamp openings. Participants will be selected via a lottery system to fill the remaining Playcamp slots. Participants will be notified by phone no later than May 5.
If You were in
Playcamp Last Year
Returning campers will be allowed to pre-register during the month of April. Specific dates for registration will be assigned and participants will be notified prior to the registration period. Full payment for the child's first session is due upon registration, with a non-refundable $50 deposit for each additional session requested. The deposit will be applied towards your final balance for each session.

Summer Playground Program - Living it UP in 2010

The Summer Playground Program is geared towards every participant receiving an enriching experience through a variety of recreational games and activities. Participants will experience a summer full of lifetime memories.

Each week participants will enjoy fun filled activities and get a chance to interact with new friends. Our staff offers a variety of expertise and a willingness to help your child have the most fun possible. Included in this parent handbook is vital information that will assist you with many of your questions. Look for more information throughout the summer about Special Events as well other daily activities.

The Summer Playground Staff is eager to contribute to your child's enjoyment and enrichment this summer.
