Book topics range from romance, mystery and poetry to genealogy and self-help. Pre-reading is not necessary and presentations strictly voluntary. Participants enjoy sharing opinions and welcome new members. Suggested donation: $1.
Current Events Discussion Group
2nd and 4th Friday, 11:00am - 12:00n
A twice-monthly discussion group that focuses on current topics, breaking news or issues that may be on the cutting edge. Effort made to seek and present facts, but diverse opinions or views considered stimulating. Leadership for each discussion voluntary and rotates among members. Topics selected in advance by the presenter and/or by group decision. New members or "drop-ins" always welcome. Suggested donation: $1.
Doctor in the House Lecture Series
2nd Monday, 12:00n - 1:00pm
Bi-monthly health education presentation features prominent community physicians and health experts who address topics of specific interest to all mature adults. Series open to the general public and brown bag lunches encouraged. Time allocated for questions and answers. Suggested donation: $2
Expert in the House Dinner Series
3rd Thursday, Bi-Monthly, 6:00 - 8:00pm
These evening workshops focus on issues that affect mature adults, seniors and caregivers. Donations for presentation appreciated. Dinner is by RSVP; $5 for meal.
Let's Chat Group
1st Thursday, 10:30 - 11:30am
Informal discussion group. Members freely discuss concerns and support each other through communication and dialogue. Suggested donation: $1 per meeting.

Four to eight-week courses that appeal to everyone interested in personal, intellectual and cultural enrichment. Suggested donation: $2 seniors 55+; $5 others.
Creative Writing
Writing for a Purpose
Wednesday, 3:00 - 4:00pm
An informal class setting provides tips on writing and publishing memoirs, articles, and creative essays. Suggested donation: $2.
Writer's Workshop
Thursday, 7:00 - 9:00pm
Informal and unstructured, writers meet to critique each other’s work. Open to all levels of writers. Suggested donation: $1.
Languages
Learn and/or refresh your language skills while exploring a different culture. New and novice students welcome. Suggested Donation: $2 per class.

Leon County Adult & Community Education Partnership
Senior Computer Classes
Pre-registration is required. Applications are available at the Senior Center reception desk. Suggested donation: $2 per class.
Develop or enhance your computer skills through a variety of six-week classes taught in partnership with the Leon County Schools Adult and Community Education at both TSC and the ACE campus (283 Trojan Trail). There is a waiting list for placement. Prospective students will be notified when a class is available.
Introduction to Keyboarding
Practice using the keyboard, mouse and special keys.
For the classes below, prerequisites include Introduction to Keyboarding or teacher approval
Getting to Know the Computer
Introduction to computers. Included: screen savers/wallpaper, games, changing settings and basic computer terminology.
Introduction to Word
Learn to use Microsoft Word for word processing: save and find a file, format a document, copy and paste text.
Introduction to the Internet
Learn to use the Internet: terminology, accessing the World Wide Web, and adding a web page to "my favorites."
Picasa
Learn to use an Internet-based photo management system.
E-mail
Learn to use e-mail: create an e-mail account, send and receive e-mails, and open attachments.
Refresher
Review of above classes.
Brain Age
Learning to use computer games to stimulate the brain and improve memory.
