Additional Residential Assistance Programs

Project Share - A good neighbor program developed by the City and administered by a third party agency. The program is operated solely on voluntary donations made by utility customers. The donations are used to assist eligible customers in meeting energy related needs. Approved customers receive one payment per household, annually. For more information contact Victoria Mathis with the Capital Area Community Action Agency, Inc. at 222-2043.

Deposit Deferrals and Installments - When establishing new services, customers who are unable to pay the entire deposit may be allowed to defer the deposit, or pay the deposit in installments. If the customer indicates they have no ability to pay the deposit, city staff will make referrals to external agencies that assist with utility deposit payment. Call Utility Customer Service at 891-4YOU (4968).

Payment Assistance for Seniors - Senior citizens that are in need of help and are subject to disconnect may qualify for assistance from the EHEAP Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program administered by Elder Care Services. For more information contact Dottie Hinkle at 921-5554.
