Smart Meters – What are They?

Smart Meters are electric, gas and water meters that can transmit data directly to and from Your Own Utilities offices. As a result, meter readers will no longer need to come to your home or business to collect your meter data. The new smart meters will not interfere with any of your home or business electronics and will be installed by professionally trained meter technicians.

The Benefits of Smart Metering

Smart Metering will improve our services, provide new benefits to our customers and community and open a pathway to the future of Smart Customers and a Smart Utility

Smart Metering Project Letter SampleHow Installation Works

You will receive a letter with helpful information in the mail 2-3 weeks before we come to your area. You do not need to be present for the upgrade, but we will need unobstructed access to your meter(s). A meter professional certified by the City of Tallahassee will knock on your door before installation to make sure that if anyone is at home they are aware of the installation. For businesses, the technician will check with the on site owner or manager before proceeding. FAQ's for Residential Customers. FAQ's for Business Customers.
