Yard Waste

Solid Waste ServicesComposting is a great way to turn your yard waste into something useful for your lawn or garden. Also, leaving your yard clippings on your grass acts as a natural fertilizer. It does NOT cause thatching. Composting for Beginners (PDF).

Yard Waste Pickup Schedules

For residential customers living in detached houses, mobile homes, many town homes, duplexes, triplexes and quadraplexes, yard waste is picked up every other week at curbside according to your red/blue week schedule. Download the new 2008 Red/Blue week calendar (PDF). Don't know your schedule? Go to YOU Online to look up your schedule by address or account number.

For pickup
Place your yard waste at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on your collection day. Yard waste is collected every other week according to your schedule.

If you have items that do not qualify for regular residential pickup such as trees and branches larger than 4 inches in diameter, you can order a special pickup for a fee.

Apartment customers
Ask your manager where to place Christmas trees, yard waste, etc. for disposal. These "trash" items, per Florida law, cannot be placed in garbage or recycling containers.

Commercial Customers
Yard Waste, Bulky Items and Construction Debris are not included in normal commercial services but can be picked up for an additional fee by downloading and faxing the request form (PDF) to 891-5550. Commercial customers can also choose to haul Yard Trash or Bulky items to the County landfill located at 7550 Apalachee Parkway, 4.5 miles past Capital Circle, on the left.
